Just ran across this. It’s HMU’s old “Farewell To IPY”.
It actually made me feel kind of bad for shutting that old shard down for the first time in… well, ever.. maybe?

Good read. But we all have our UO stories, IPY or OSI. You created amazing memories for quite a few people, and they will never forget those times, as that ? page shows. Not many of us can say we’ve done that for more than, say, our immediate relatives. In a way, I guess, that feeling should replace the “kind of bad” one. How many of us have ever even tried to do what you did or give like you did and succeeded?
