The Illusion Of Due Diligence.

Saw this on the news this morning.

Eleven gas firms charged in price-fixing scheme

Laughed out loud, proceeded to change the channel and wonder why I was watching the news.

“Don’t worry commonfolk. The criminals have been apprehended. A handful of small-time local gas station owners are being fined for price fixing. The fact that we’re being very ambiguous about the facts of the story so that it sounds like the actual gas companies have been caught, let alone investigated, for some kind of crime is coincidental and of no consequence to you. You are safe, the world is fair, and everyone is looking out for your best interest.

Now go fill up, bitch.”

I have absolutely no idea why it’s being formatted like that.

And I don’t care enough to search for the reason why over the next hour.

    Deal with it.
