Warhammer Guild Interest Ping
It gets harder and harder to consider playing WoW again as time passes. The idea of participating in two separate grinds for PvE and PvP gear, not to mention gear for various specs… Yeah, I just can’t. The other night, I went ahead and deleted my characters and I haven’t looked back (which didn’t actually matter, because all of the gear they had is completely worthless the second the expansion releases, and Blizzard just made leveling 3x as fast).
I’ve come to the conclusion that MMOs like WoW are only fun when they first launch. Once I’ve done everything fourty times and everyone has three or four geared out, maximum level characters - I’m sorry, things just cease to be fun. It’s now a race between thousands of smelly dudes in smellier computer chairs to see who can be the most elite catass in the history of nerds that really enjoy wasting years of their lives collecting virtual swords.
Besides, the E-Sport direction that Blizzard is desperately trying to take WoW in is the lamest shit I’ve ever seen in my many years of playing MMOs.
Since there’s nothing else scheduled to release any time soon (EXCEPT DARKFALL!!!!!!!), I’ve decided I might give this one a go. And people have asked me to run a guild before, so here’s what we’ll do for now.

Come play some Divinity and run a guild. I’ll let you take over my 420 stone if you’d like “Fear and Loathing in Divinity”

I would certainly fear macroing and loathe dropping the same combos for the twelve thousandth time.
Sorry dude. My interest in doing the same things over and over again wanes dramatically in my golden years.
Pre-Ren - with the chewed up, cannibalized freeshard crowd that follows what’s left of its existence around - is more or less akin to a deathmatch, with e-peen being the only prize.
So I macro up and kill some guy. ROCKED HIM. K. So… now what?
Although, I suppose you can be negative about anything. As long as people are enjoying it, that’s good enough for them and I respect that. But a game like UO needs a very, very wide audience, in my opinion, or it kind of stops having a point.

Well, I suppose I’ll be tanking.

Tilly will be healing, of course.

Well I’m guessing you are talking about Warhammer Online…
Earlier this week I pre-ordered the game at Best Buy and it comes with a open beta code, so pretty soon I’ll try out the beta. If its to my liking I may play the retail game in September. I’m a nub when it comes to Warhammer. I’ve never played it before.

I think they’ll start to come out of the woodwork now that I mention Tilly.

Open beta Sept. 7th, homos. Might just be me and Tilly though.

I’m installing the beta client for the preview weekend (this weekend), and gonna patch it tonight and try out the game. I’m also in the open beta. Rawr.

I think we’re playing Empire, but she hasn’t looked at the classes yet.

Finally installed the beta, and it took 2 seconds to patch up (wow!!) but I’m a total Warhammer nubber so I don’t know what the heck is going on or what I’m doing. I think I picked the Order side, and a healer class or something. /shrug

I haven’t even played yet. My experience with Warhammer basically consists of the old tabletop game (and not much of that, seriously.. but it looked super cool).
I haven’t picked up the preorder box, etc. I’m just waiting for the open beta on the 7th.

One thing I do know is that tanks are lacking on Empire side, so I’ll probably go for that. Since all I ever did in WoW was tank, tank, tank my fucking ass off. Hated it, but I hated it worse when other people made poor attempts at it.
I don’t know if Warrior Priest tanks, or what. But if it can, I’ll probably play it. My entire Paladin class redesign for WoW was based on the idea of a melee character that passively heals and buffs party members while fighting. Sounds like that’s what a Warrior Priest is, so that’s cool.
If it simply cannot tank, I’ll look at Ironbreaker and Swordmaster.

Today while playing I saw a dwarf in game named “Shielf”. I chuckled and asked if IPY rang a bell, but no response.
So far I really like this game, it runs really well on my machine, the public quests are fun and I’ve already gotten blue and purple drops, and I’m only level 7! But yeah, its fun so far.

Definitely sounds pretty good. Tilly is a WoW addict, so I hope this will switch her over.
If you’re playing a Dwarf - what class? From what I can gather, Ironbreaker is the only Empire tanking class. That can’t be right, but it seems like it from what I’ve read.
We’ll need one of those. I’m down unless I thoroughly enjoy Warrior Priest.
If Swordmaster is a tank, I’ll consider that along with Ironbreaker.

PS: she’ll be pissed about the “WoW addict” comment.
I MEAN:
WoW… enthusiast.
No… uh.
WoW…. enjoyer.
SHE DOESN’T PLAY THAT MUCH!!

What class are you rocking, Curly?
